About Information Technology Europe

About the company

A European engineering company built for long-lived systems

REP Europe GmbH provides information technology and digital services to organisations that rely on software for their daily operations. We concentrate on the parts of a technology landscape that are difficult to replace: core applications, integration layers, data foundations and the infrastructure that keeps them available.

01Overview

Company overview

We are a technology services company working in software engineering, cloud, systems integration, data and security. Our engagements range from a single well-scoped application to sustained collaboration with an internal team over several release cycles.

Work is organised around small, accountable groups of engineers who stay with a system from analysis through operation. We do not separate design from implementation, and we do not hand a project to a different group once the contract is signed. This continuity is the single most reliable way we have found to keep quality consistent.

All communication and documentation is produced in English.

Mission

Our mission

To build software that organisations can depend on and understand — systems that solve a real operational problem, remain maintainable as requirements change, and can be taken over by their owners at any time.

Vision

Our vision

A European technology landscape where critical systems are transparent rather than opaque, where technical decisions are recorded and reviewable, and where digital modernisation proceeds in careful steps instead of disruptive rewrites.

02Values

What we consider non-negotiable

Honesty about complexity
We describe effort and risk as we assess them, including when a request is more difficult than it appears.
Craft over volume
Fewer, better-considered components rather than a large surface area that nobody can maintain.
Respect for existing work
Systems built by others are treated as decisions made under constraints we may not know.
Shared understanding
A solution is not finished until the client's team understands how it works.
Responsibility for consequences
We remain engaged when something breaks and explain what happened.

03Working principles

How an engagement runs

Predictability matters more than speed. These principles govern day-to-day collaboration.

  • 01Scope is agreed in writing and revised openly when circumstances change.
  • 02Progress is demonstrated with working software at regular intervals.
  • 03Issues are raised as soon as they are identified, together with options.
  • 04Estimates are given as ranges with the assumptions that support them.
  • 05Client teams have access to the repository and the reasoning behind it.
  • 06Knowledge transfer happens continuously, not only at project closure.

04Technology

Approach to technology

We select technology according to the expected lifespan of the system, the skills available to maintain it and the operating environment it must survive in. Mature and well-documented tools are preferred over novel ones, and every additional dependency must justify the maintenance burden it introduces.

Where a client already operates a defined stack, we work within it rather than introducing parallel standards.

05Quality

Quality standards

  • Peer review on every change that reaches a production environment.
  • Automated tests covering behaviour that carries operational or financial weight.
  • Reproducible builds and environments so that results are consistent.
  • Accessibility and responsive behaviour considered part of a feature's definition of done.
  • Written architectural decisions, kept with the code they describe.

06Europe

European business perspective

As a European company, REP Europe GmbH works within the expectations of the European business environment: careful handling of personal data, documented obligations between parties, and a preference for written clarity over informal agreement.

Distributed collaboration is normal for us. Working sessions are summarised, decisions are recorded, and materials are produced in English so that stakeholders in different countries can follow the same account of a project.
